The PMM-HY is an advanced electric and hydraulically gantry press designed for high-precision sheet metal straightening and deformations. Its electric positioning system, laser measurement, and electro-hydrostatic technology provide precise operation while significantly reducing energy consumption.
The motorized positioning and laser sensor can identify the exact point of the workpiece with millimetric precision, without moving the sheet from the workbench.
A laser system identifies deformation points on the sheet. In automatic mode, the press automatically positions itself at the required working point.
The PMM-HY uses an Electro-Hydrostatic Motor-Pump Unit (EPU) to drive the main cylinder.
This system provides:
The press features a highly rigid electro-welded steel structure designed for maximum rigidity and minimum deflection under load.
The gantry slides along the platform guides, while the main cylinder moves horizontally on steel wheels for precise positioning.
The hydraulic system combines a power accumulator, two-stage pumps, brushless motor, and servovalve technology to optimize performance and energy consumption.
The cylinder provides three programmable descent speeds, allowing the operator to adapt the working cycle to different applications.
A touchscreen control panel allows operators to set working parameters and monitor positions throughout the process.
Laser measurement data is displayed on the screen, allowing the operator to control the process manually or automatically.
A wireless remote control provides freedom of movement during operation.
The PMM-HY can be prepared for connection to a company's network, enabling the exchange of production and machine data such as:
The system can also be prepared for secure remote assistance through a protected VPN connection.
As a safety measure to guarantee the operator's safety and to safeguard the machine, a maximum pressure valve is installed inside the hydraulic control unit on all hydraulic presses produced by SICMI.
The tubes for the passage of the electrical cables are anchored to the press frame by means of special collars.
Unlike many competitors who use simple plastic ties that are destined to dry out and break quickly, these collars are made of highly resistant material and are screwed to the structure of the press.
As a safety measure, the hydraulic hoses of all the presses produced by SICMI are firmly fixed to the machine frame using special collars which prevent any movement of the hydraulic hose.
These collars have the base welded to the frame, while the upper part is screwed.
All SICMI hydraulic presses are equipped with the Stopflex hose retention system, designed to secure pressurized hydraulic hoses and prevent uncontrolled movement in the event of fitting failure.
The system helps reduce the risk of the whip effect, protects personnel and equipment, and limits hydraulic oil release into the working area.
24V Low-Voltage Control System
The press operates with a 400V three-phase power supply. For operator safety, a transformer inside the electrical panel reduces the control voltage to 24V, minimizing the risk of electric shock.
The laser scanning of the sheet metal allows you to analyze the surface of the metal to be straightened and to find with extreme precision the points of the sheet metal on which to work.
This function optimizes the operator's work and allows for precise and fast straightening.
The electric actuators allow the movement of the upper mobile pillar and the main cylinder.
It is possible to set the position and also the speed of movement.
The working parameters display allows you to view the position and stroke of the main cylinder in real time, as well as the position of the upper mobile frame.
This facilitates the correct positioning of the hydraulic press and simplifies straightening operations.
The electro-hydrostatic unit is mounted as standard on the PMM-HY hydraulic press and allows to optimize the straightening operations.
This unit is in fact equipped with a transducer to set the working pressure and is equipped with proportional valves, which allow the operator to adjust the approach, deceleration and working speed of the main cylinder.
Work platform for hydraulic presses for straightening in the PMM and PMM-HY models.
The platform is completely welded to the base of the hydraulic press and is bored on the surface.
Sheet metal lifting cylinders can be installed on it upon request.
The wireless radio control allows operators to control the hydraulic press without a fixed or cable-connected control panel.
It manages cylinder movement, transversal adjustment, and upright positioning in both directions. When equipped with lifting cylinders, their movement can also be controlled remotely.
The optional Siemens KTP 700 Basic touchscreen provides precise control of the hydraulic press, including:
Up to 100 machining programs can be stored. Stroke and pressure are monitored via a wire encoder and pressure transducer.
When equipped with a hydraulic cushion, its operation can also be controlled through the touchscreen.
