SICMI Stamping Press

Two-Post Hydraulic Press for Stamping & Assembly

The PST electro-hydraulic press is designed for stamping, sheet metal deformation, and assembly applications. Its robust monolithic frame is TIG welded with internal reinforcements for reliable performance in demanding workshop environments.

Robust Two-Post Construction

The PST features a rigid monolithic frame with reinforced construction and a guided upper table.

Self-lubricating Guides: 2 guides on models up to 200 tons and 4 guides on 300–400 ton models
T-Slots: Integrated into both upper and lower tables for secure mold and tooling fixation
Bolted Lower Table: Provides a solid and stable working surface

Two-Speed Hydraulic System

The hydraulic control unit provides two operating speeds:

Approach Speed: Under 30 mm/sec for rapid cylinder movement
Working Speed: Automatically activated when the upper table contacts the workpiece

This combination helps optimize the pressing cycle while maintaining controlled working movement.

OPERATION SYSTEM

Semi-Automatic Version

The press is operated using the lever and ignition button simultaneously. Rod end-stroke sensors control the cylinder’s ascent and descent.

Automatic Version

The automatic version operates through dual-button control and includes microswitches for precise cylinder stroke adjustment. At the end of each pressing cycle, the work table automatically returns upward.

The automatic version is also equipped with:

  • Siemens PLC
  • Rexroth solenoid valves
  • Automatic work-table return
  • Pedestal-mounted control console

Maximum pressure valve

Maximum pressure valve

As a safety measure to guarantee the operator's safety and to safeguard the machine, a maximum pressure valve is installed inside the hydraulic control unit on all hydraulic presses produced by SICMI.

Anchoring electrical cables

The tubes for the passage of the electrical cables are anchored to the press frame by means of special collars.

Unlike many competitors who use simple plastic ties that are destined to dry out and break quickly, these collars are made of highly resistant material and are screwed to the structure of the press.

As a safety measure, the hydraulic hoses of all the presses produced by SICMI are firmly fixed to the machine frame using special collars which prevent any movement of the hydraulic hose.

These collars have the base welded to the frame, while the upper part is screwed.

Stopflex anchor

All SICMI hydraulic presses are equipped with the Stopflex hose retention system, designed to secure pressurized hydraulic hoses and prevent uncontrolled movement in the event of fitting failure.

The system helps reduce the risk of the whip effect, protects personnel and equipment, and limits hydraulic oil release into the working area.

Anti-fall and anti-explosion valves

Anti-fall and anti-explosion valves

All SICMI hydraulic presses are equipped with anti-fall and anti-burst safety valves to protect the operator and machine.

  • Anti-Fall Valve – Keeps the hydraulic cylinder securely in position if a hydraulic hose fails, preventing the upper platform from falling.
  • Anti-Burst Valve – Releases excess hydraulic pressure if it exceeds the permitted limit, helping protect the cylinder from damage.

Current transformer

24V Low-Voltage Control System

The press operates with a 400V three-phase power supply. For operator safety, a transformer inside the electrical panel reduces the control voltage to 24V, minimizing the risk of electric shock.

Milled platform with T-slots

The milled platform with T-slots allows quick fixing of the molds.

The dimensions, as well as the depth and geometry of the grooves, are completely customizable upon customer request.

Stem anti-rotation device

The anti-rotation device of the cylinder rod is a safety system which prevents twisting of the rod and therefore serves to keep any molds fixed to the cylinder in line.

This system is a sort of metal jaw with two holes: the stem is inserted inside the larger hole, while the guide rod slides through the smaller hole.

Self-Lubricating Sliding Guides

Side-mounted guides ensure smooth, accurate worktable movement for precise forming operations.

  • 2 guides: Standard up to 200 tons
  • 4 guides: Available on request

Cylinder limit switches

The press allows precise stroke adjustment through microswitches that control the cylinder's maximum descent and ascent positions.

  • Semi-Automatic: Microswitches stop piston movement at the set position.
  • Automatic: The piston automatically returns to Top Dead Center (TDC).
  • Digital Touchscreen: An encoder replaces the microswitches and continuously measures piston position with 0.1 mm accuracy.
